London’s vibrant property scene is set to welcome an exciting new destination this summer – Parkside Yards at The Green Quarter, Southall. This innovative project will serve as a unique fusion of creativity, community, and nature, transforming West London’s landscape.

Parkside Yards promises to offer an appealing array of amenities, featuring a ceramics studio, community centre, café, unique stores, and an arts programme designed to invigorate the local community. It will also enhance the area’s existing parkland, introducing a pioneering tree nursery, a woodland trail, and a children’s play area featuring a jumping pillow.

The first tenants have already signed their contracts, marking a significant step forward for the development. OPEN – the independent arts organisation behind Dickens Yards’ OPEN Ealing – will be among the area’s first new tenants. OPEN Southall will launch its new community and creative hub in June, showcasing the vibrant potential of this new destination.

OPEN Southall’s new community and creativity hub will celebrate Southall’s rich ceramic history, a nod to the Martin Brothers who established their first ceramics studio in the area 150 years ago. Creatives will find a home here with ceramics and textile studios to produce, showcase and sell their arts. The hub will also offer various courses and workshops, enriching the community’s cultural experience.

The Green Quarter’s strategic location, just a 10-minute walk from the Elizabeth line at Southall Station, complements modern city life with an emphasis on outdoor living. Nearly 50 per cent of the 88-acre site will comprise open green spaces upon completion. Parkside Yards is poised to become a vibrant hub that unifies communities through its arts programme, flexible working spaces, and outdoor piazza, offering opportunities to eat, meet, drink, shop and play against a backdrop of lush greenery.

Embodying The Green Quarter’s vision to be among the country’s most biodiverse locales, Parkside Yards will expand the parkland in the area, which already includes Central Gardens. The new on-site tree nursery, one of the first at a UK development, will initially feature over 600 air-potted trees, all from species native to the British isles. A whimsical woodland nature trail for children will meander through the green space, adorned with carved wooden animal statues.

Parkside Yards isn’t just about creativity and greenery, though. It will feature an assortment of retail outlets, including a grocer, clothing store, estate agent, café, and an airstream offering delectable street food. There will also be a tranquil meadow walk with picnic benches and children’s play areas, making it an ideal destination for family outings.

Mandie Wilde, chief operating officer of OPEN, comments:

This is an exciting step forward for OPEN and provides local and affordable community studios for creatives wanting to develop their practise in ceramics and textiles. It’s also a great place for beginners to learn new skills.

The Green Quarter at Parkside Yards

The Green Quarter, a remarkable project by Berkeley St George City, is one of the UK’s biggest regeneration endeavours, set within extensive parkland and open space that promotes outdoor living. A network of safe cycle paths and walkways will improve connections to a 1km waterside trail along the Grand Union Canal and open up access to the 90-acre Minet Country Park for everyone to enjoy.

The development is conveniently located within a five-minute cycle of Southall station, which is on the Elizabeth line, providing quick access to Bond Street, Canary Wharf, and Heathrow. All residents will have access to The Parkside Club, which includes a state-of-the-art gym, a private screening room, and concierge service.
