About Us

Hopkins Architects is a pioneering architectural practice.

The principles we were founded on over 40 years ago – clear and logical design thinking, an honest expression of materials and purpose, a respect for context and the desire to do more with less – are perhaps even more relevant now than they were then.

Our consistent and rigorous approach has resulted in a portfolio of ground-breaking, beautiful and functional buildings, no two of which are the same. Each project is a unique expression of its circumstances, and a response to a particular set of challenges and constraints.

We were early exponents of integrated sustainability in architecture and have continued to take a pro-active approach to environmental design whether in new buildings such as our Living Planet Centre for WWF or in the adaptive re-use of existing buildings as at 100 Liverpool Street.

We also take seriously our responsibly to wider users - those who see or experience our buildings as neighbours or fellow citizens. Whether we are designing a New England campus in the U.S, a civic centre for the people of Norwich, a turtle sanctuary in the Middle East or a city block refurbishment in London, our buildings are rooted in context, demonstrating a respect for people, environment, history and heritage. In every project we look for opportunities to stitch the building into its immediate surroundings, connecting to existing uses and communities, and improving public realm.

We continue to work in partnership with our clients and their stakeholders to deliver the best and most appropriate building to support their needs, serves their purpose and transform their organisations.
